Arranging Music for the Real World
An Education and
Training Workshop
Improve Your Music Writing Skills
in
Music Composition and Arranging
for
Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble
Taught by
Vince Corozine (ASCAP)
(A former member of the USMA Band at West Point and
music arranger for the Jazz Knights for ten years)
This workshop will provide the tools needed to write
music with clarity and excitement!
Each workshop participant will:

Gain hands-on experience by having their musical compositions and
arrangements performed.

Receive individual attention as Vince critiques their work before
and during each session.

Learn by listening to music for large and small music ensembles.
Students will follow scores as the music unfolds.

Conduct their musical compositions during the final session, and
receive a critique from Vince, followed by class discussion.

Be issued a packet containing informative and relevant materials,
especially prepared for the sessions.

Have the opportunity to e-mail Vince, to ask questions or make
comments before or following the sessions.

Own a copy of Vinces new music arranging book, Arranging Music
for the Real World with a CD, from Mel Bay Publications. Students
should purchase this book, and it will be used during the sessions.

Receive valuable information about how to get music copyrighted and
published.
Vince believes that musicians learn best by the
eye-to-ear approach, where one can hear what one writes.
