Music Theory 3 Syllabus
Music Theory 3 is designed for the advanced student who has mastered all the concepts in Theory 1 and 2. This challenging course gives an in-depth perspective on the following: modal scales, 20th Century harmonic practices, and secondary dominant chords. This course highlights 12-tone techniques, chorale harmonization, improvisation, aleatory, electronic and computer music.
Prerequisite
The student should have successfully completed Music Theory 1 and 2 or have gained a working knowledge thereof.
Materials Needed
Keyboard and access to Sibelius music software program. Worksheets are given to accompany each lesson and review quizzes when appropriate.
