Music Theory 1 Syllabus
Music Theory 1 is designed to cover the basic introductory music concepts. This is the perfect course for the novice musician as well as for the student who want to ensure his knowledge of elementary skills. The essential concepts that a musician should master at this level are the following: major and minor scales, clef, key signatures, rules of notation, enharmonic equivalents, intervals, simple and compound time, diatonic harmony, melody and rhythm, and seventh chords and their inversions.
Each lesson comes with its worksheet and reviews quizzes when applicable.
Prerequisite
The student may have little of no experience with music notation.

Keyboard and access to Sibelius music software program.
