Jazz Arranging 2 Syllabus

(Arranging for Large Groups)

If you want the challenge to explore in-depth jazz techniques and large group jazz ensemble composing, this advanced course is for you. This course is designed for the student who desires to excel in his career.

Prerequisite

The students should have completed Music Theory 1, 2, and 3 and Jazz Arranging 1 and Jazz Theory. A strong working knowledge of writing for small groups is recommended.

Materials Needed

Keyboard and access to Sibelius music software program. Worksheets and review quizzes as needed.

Assignments will be given with each chapter and the work will be tailored to fit the needs of the student.
